Conversational Spanish for Travelers
Students will gain some basic understanding of the grammatical base of the language while continuing to learn and apply Spanish conversation, building on previous courses. Narrative readings will provide vocabulary which will be repeated and practiced in class and at home. By the end of the course students will be familiar with basic rules regarding gender, present and past verb tenses, conjugation of the three main groups of regular verbs and knowledge and use of irregular verbs. Committing to memory certain expressions and idioms and learning where to apply them. Learn to read a newspaper, hotel bill, airline schedule, hotel rates, and many more travel applications, such as ordering meals and taxi, among many others.

Beginner's French
Come and learn the basics of communicating in French. This course will cover pronunciation as well as a variety of everyday topics such as time, dates, family, greetings, numbers and body parts. If you enjoy traveling or simply want to help your child with his/her French, this is the course for you!

LET’S KNIT!
Knitting is a great stress reliever and a fun way to make great practical gifts for you, your family and friends.
Join the many knitters out there by learning the basics. Once you’ve learned these basics you can move on to fun easy projects within a short period of time. Enjoy all the beautiful varieties of wool knitters get to experience today! You will learn to cast on, knit, pearl, cast off and many more knitting tips to get you started!
Note: Please bring a light colored ball of wool with a pair of knitting needles the size required for the ball of wool you are going to be working with (says on band of wool). Preferably something around 5.5 mm and wool that isn’t multi colored or knobby.

Blackfoot language
This language class will start on January 29/2012 at Napi Friendship Centre in Pincher Creek. The target audience is parents or caregivers of children age 0-10 years of age. If you do not know the Blackfoot Language, come and join us Tuesdays at 6:00 PM for a fun filled hour of learning simple words and phrases taught by Rosaline Crow Shoe, that you could use with your children in their formative years. This will preserve the Blackfoot Language and traditions for future generations. Childcare is provided for younger children along with beverages and a snack.

Start Writing!
Do you like to hang around with words? Need a push to write that book or do you just want nice, clear emails? This course is a fun, relaxed way to add clarity, texture and style to your writing. You can write it kooky or be as serious as you please. The class is open to writers at any level, but will not cover academic writing.

This three-night course will focus on telescopes and the Internet, the two basic tools for exploring the cosmos from your back yard. Modern telescopes and the Internet are making astronomy a highly accessible, engaging and rewarding hobby for adults and children alike. This hobby can stimulate powerful interest in science and technology, broadening the frontiers of economic and social opportunity for youth. Rural areas with clear horizons and consistently dark skies offer a natural advantage for back yard astronomy.

FLY FISHING WORKSHOP
This one day course is designed to get you started fly fishing! In the morning we will learn how to set up the fly rod. Students will learn to tie some basic knots and how to build a tapered leader. There will be a discussion on fly selection, what to look for when selecting flies and how to dress and present them to fish. The theory behind casting will be discussed with an emphasis on getting good drifts. In the afternoon we will move to the river’s edge to practice casting.
Leland grew up in southern Alberta where he learned to fly-fish. He has fished in Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico and Africa. Leland has been working as a fly fishing guide in southern Alberta since 1994.

Stained Glass Decorative Mosaic Table: $150
A table with a wooden top ( 16" square or circle ) and wrought iron legs. A precut stained glass design: ( IE - sunflower, humming bird, geometric) is included in the fee. You will nip the glass, glue and grout the table top. Your choice of glass colors and design. No glass cutting experience required! All tools and glass provided. Create something unique.

Stepping Stone
Precut stained glass centre: ( flowers, geometric, etc ) You will complete your stone using mosaic cutters and arranging your mosaic background. Then mix and pour the cement. Approximate size: 14" X 14". (Square or circle ). No glass cutting experience required! All tools and glass provided. Come create something unique.
