What’s New?

CAEC
CAEC & Trade Readiness Prep
Thanks to the new Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC), adults across Alberta who do not have a high school equivalency diploma now have access to a supportive, made-in-Alberta credential designed with their needs in mind. The CAEC opens the door to new career opportunities and further education, creating a meaningful pathway for both personal achievement and professional growth.

Getting started is simple. Reach out to us to schedule a meeting, where we’ll walk you through the program and answer your questions. At your first appointment, you’ll complete short math and English assessments—this helps us understand your current skill level so we can provide the right support.
From there, you’ll work one-on-one with our CAEC Coordinator to create a plan that fits your goals and helps you take the next step forward with confidence.

Replacing the GED with the CAEC
As of May 3, 2024, the GED® is no longer available in Canada. In its place, the Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) has been created to better reflect the needs of adult learners here at home.
The CAEC is designed with care to align with the realities of adult education in Alberta and across Canada. It also recognizes the unique perspectives and contributions of Indigenous, francophone, and multicultural communities, making the credential more inclusive and meaningful.
These updates are meant to give adult learners, and the employers, post-secondary schools, and communities who support them, confidence that the CAEC is a true measure of educational achievement in Canada.
Our Preparation Program Is For You If:
- You did not complete high school and are over 18
- You are under 19 but won’t have enough credits to graduate by age 20
- You would like support preparing for the CAEC or a trade readiness exam
